Menu Link Cheat Sheet

This work sheet is designed to help you to practice creating menu links in the back end of Joomla CMS. 

Open Firefox (web developer tool bar) to Library.  Information >> show link details.

Log in to the backend of Joomla

Menus>>mainmenu>>

click New (top right)

Linking to urls:

In menu item type : select external link for url

Type in title in Title imput box
leave alias blank
copy and paste in the url in Link input box

Choose Parent Item from menu for this article:  If it is in Sick Pets sub menu, Select Sick Pets

On click open in : New Window with browser info.

Save

Linking to Articles inside Joomla:

New

Select type of menu item: select Article layout

type in title

leave alias blank

Choose Parent Item from menu for this article

go to Paramenters (basic) and click select,
find article of you new item.
Save
